I'm glad I introduced you to a Barbie you didn't know. When I think about it, I've always liked the dolls that were more than just pretty faces on plain bodies, maybe that's why the first Fashionista Barbie I bought had a removeable/replaceable head. Thanks again for letting us all participate.Carricktershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09323704570291088000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800189995632569395.post-33967749711790314972012-06-09T03:12:30.030+10:002012-06-09T03:12:30.030+10:00Hey, sorry I didn't get to this sooner! This is the first time I have heard her mentioned! I totally agree that the shoes on Mattel dolls have gotten better! the old shoes would break so easily. I'm not sure which is a better prop for my dolls; shoe, handbag or Ken/male dolls. LOL! I put my AA silkstone doll on a fashionista body but I do think Mattel should issue them that way too!

You post was really great reading!
XOXO
Ms. LeoMs. Leohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09742194324517520395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800189995632569395.post-67864168337116657672012-05-27T15:04:45.881+10:002012-05-27T15:04:45.881+10:00Hi Roxanne and welcome. I have noticed that a lot of our answers are very similar - we all want more articulated dolls and few of us seem to have enough space for our collections, whether they are big or small. The Fashionistas are very photogenic, aren't they?Carricktershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09323704570291088000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800189995632569395.post-148742018583370202012-05-23T06:04:06.557+10:002012-05-23T06:04:06.557+10:00Hello from Spain: I like to know more about your h...Hello from Spain: I like to know more about your hobby of collecting dolls. I can relate to many of your answers. My Barbies fashionistas are also the most photographed. I think that's one of the reasons I bought that Barbie because I can make her hold things.
It was fun sewing for the BJDs. Almost every week she would bring in a different size doll and we would make some basic blocks for it. She sold the clothes she made for some of the dolls on Etsy for a while. Sorry I can't help with classes in your area but if you've got any questions, I'd always be glad to give some suggestions.Carricktershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09323704570291088000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800189995632569395.post-54205851392535329762012-05-22T03:32:44.818+10:002012-05-22T03:32:44.818+10:00I really hope Mattel reads these answers, because ...I really hope Mattel reads these answers, because almost all of them ask for more articulation!! XD

I love that you got introduced to BJDs through a sewing student! I would love if there was someone around here to teach BJD sewing classes!!!

That moveable thumb, also, is awesome!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15111661500387424612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800189995632569395.post-50219304151974789132012-05-21T21:07:21.007+10:002012-05-21T21:07:21.007+10:00Yes, I remember thinking they were pretty cool.
